MSHA 24 Hour Training

This New Miner or Newly Hired Experienced Miner training applies to all mine site workers. New Miner, Newly Hired Experienced Miner, Construction workers, Maintenance workers, Mine contractors, and any others beginning work at a mine. It provides information required for MSHA Part 46 and/or Part 48 New Miner and New Hired Experienced Miner training. The information helps mine workers recognize and avoid hazards regularly exposed to and those which occur unexpectedly. An overall understanding of mining hazards is presented.

This 3-day training program covers:

  • Instruction on Changes at the Mine
  • H & S Standards and Applicable Requirements
  • Transportation Controls and Communication Systems
  • Water Hazards, Pits, and Spoil Banks
  • Emergency Plans and Firefighting
  • Ground Conditions and Control
  • Working in Areas of High Walls
  • Maintenance & Repair
  • Accident Prevention
  • Mobile Equipment
  • Material Handling
  • Electrical Hazards
  • Fall Protection
  • Basic First-Aid
  • HAZCOM

Participants receive a 5000-23 card good for one year upon successful completion of the course.
